We welcome Jay Putnam to Sausalito for the July Business Exchange.
Preventing Employment-Related Lawsuits and Related Claims
Jay has 36 years of deeply-textured experience to draw upon, and his office is uniquely-qualified to advise employers about the measures they can take to prevent employment-related lawsuits and other workplace claims. They offer high-impact guidance on how a few simple measures can entirely prevent workplace labor law disputes from progressing to lawsuits. These include expertly-drafted employee handbooks, arbitration policies and related documents that are combined with immediate access to complimentary, expert legal advice when problems, questions or concerns arise. Such “preventative medicine”, as opposed to after-the-fact defense of lawsuits, is where employers can expect the greatest return on their investment.
Meeting Topic will include: Recent developments in California employment law, including the recently-enacted immigration ( "sanctuary") legislation. His objective is to explain, in understandable terms, how new developments relate to existing legal principles, and what tangible steps employers can take to protect themselves from the ever-increasing legal requirements that form the foundation for future litigation. Audience participation welcome and questions are invited.
If you would like to have a particular topic discussed at the meeting or a future meeting, please contact the Chamber at 331-7262 or email Chamber@sausalito.org.
