• Sausalito Goes to the Dogs with Inaugural “Dogs by the Bay” Celebration
    A free waterfront day of community, creativity, and canine charm arrives April 25, 2026


    Sausalito, CA — Sausalito is going to the dogs, in the best way possible. On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the waterfront will come alive with wagging tails, creative costumes, and community spirit as the Downtown Sausalito Association presents the first-ever Dogs by the Bay, a free, family-friendly celebration designed for dogs and the people who love them.

    Set against the scenic backdrop of Bridgeway, Tracy Way, and Gabrielson Park, the event blends Sausalito’s coastal charm with a playful, dog-centric twist, inviting residents, visitors, and pet lovers from across the Bay Area to enjoy a full day of activities, entertainment, and local engagement.


    The day begins with a lively Waterfront Dog Parade at 10:30 AM, traveling from the iconic Trident to Gabrielson Park, followed by a Dog Costume Contest at 11:30 AM, where pups can show off their style and personality for a chance to win prizes.

    Throughout the day, attendees can explore:
    •     A curated dog-friendly vendor marketplace on Tracy Way
    •     Live music performances in Gabrielson Park
    •     A month-long “Dog Passport” program encouraging visitors to explore local businesses
    •     Interactive experiences including dog adoptions, demonstrations, and family-friendly activities


    “This event is about bringing the community together in a fun, welcoming way that celebrates the joy dogs bring to our lives,” said organizers with the Downtown Sausalito Association. “It’s also an opportunity to support local businesses and showcase Sausalito as a vibrant, pet-friendly destination.”

    Participating partners include local businesses and organizations such as Love’s Legacy Rescue, offering on-site dog adoptions, and Guide Dogs for the Blind, providing engaging demonstrations and education.

    With its picturesque waterfront setting and unique programmingDogs by the Bay is expected to draw visitors from throughout the region, reinforcing Sausalito’s reputation as a premier destination for both residents and travelers.
