Kass’s outstanding leadership, civic commitment, and tireless work to strengthen our local economy and community spirit have made a lasting impact on Sausalito.

Kass Green is the 2025 Spirit of Marin Honoree for the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce, recognized for her visionary leadership, civic dedication, and environmental innovation. As the owner of The Inn Above Tide, Kass has been a key force in revitalizing Sausalito’s downtown, co-founding the Downtown Business Improvement District and now serving as its President. Since 2021, she has served on the City’s Economic Development Advisory Committee, working closely with business and property owners to foster a thriving local economy.

Her civic achievements include leading the enhanced lighting initiative along Bridgeway and supporting cornerstone projects like the Sausalito Center for the Arts and the Ferry Landside Project.

Nationally, Kass is a pioneer in geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing, co-founding Pacific Meridian Resources, later acquired by Space Imaging. Her firm, Kass Green & Associates, has led major environmental mapping efforts nationwide. The first woman to serve as President of MAPPS and the first female recipient of the ASPRS Lifetime Achievement Award, she is also a USGS-NASA Pecora Award recipient.

Kass’s favorite saying, “A rising tide lifts all boats,” reflects her deep belief in collective progress—an ideal she lives and leads by every day.
