Sausalito, CA – After a competitive and thorough search process, the Nominating Committee of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce has announced the selection of a new CEO to take the place of Oonagh Kavanagh who left her position at the Chamber earlier this early to pursue a master’s degree in drama in Dublin, Ireland.

The new CEO, David Archer will take the helm at the chamber this month, moving to the Bay Area from La Quinta in Palm Desert where he served for 9 years as the CEO of the La Quinta Chamber of Commerce. He oversaw a staff of five and an annual operating budget of $500k at that organization. David also has a background in insurance, finance and business development, was past president of the Rotary Club of La Quinta, and is a graduate of the Western Association of Chamber Executives leadership program.

“We are delighted to welcome David and his family to Sausalito and look forward to his energy and enthusiasm for our many programs,” said Chamber president Lisa Scopazzi. “He is highly qualified to take this leadership position and we’re excited to work with him.”

According to David, his primary focus in the immediate future will be to continue to grow the Chamber’s membership with an emphasis on “micro” businesses (small, home based businesses), secure more local and regional sponsors, and to manage the newly expanded visitor information kiosk program.

Please come meet David at the next Chamber Mixer which is September 22, 5:30 PM, at California Caviar, 302 Caledonia Street, Suite 6.
