ANN ARNOTT RECIEVES 2009 "SPIRIT OF MARIN" AWARD!

Every year the Bank of Marin sponsors a very special luncheon where the very prestigious Spirit of Marin awards are presented recognizing the achievements and volunteer spirit of the most deserving residents, businesses and civic leaders in Marin County. Now in its 16th year, the Spirit of Marin annual luncheon is a wonderful tradition and tribute to the spirit of volunteerism that is so very important in today’s economy.

This year, Sausalito resident and business woman, Ann Arnott is being honored as “Business Citizen of the Year”.

Ann Arnott has been active in the business, artistic and social life of Sausalito for over 45 Years.  In addition to currently serving on the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Executive Committee (she has been a Chamber member for over 20 years, is a “Member Emeritus” of the Chamber and last year was honored with a Chamber “Lifetime Achievement” award), Ann is also President of the Sausalito Art Festival Foundation, having run the Art Festival front gate operation for 32 years.

As if this were not enough to keep her busy, Ann is an elected official serving as vice president of the Sausalito-Marin City Sanitary District Board and is active in the Sausalito Woman’s Club where she has written and directed many of their plays. She is also co-founder of “The Sausalito Players” -- a play-reading group, now in its 32nd season.

Ann and her husband Peter Arnott have lived in Sausalito since 1964 where they raised their son David. She has worked as an educator in Marin County, a restaurant owner (she opened the very first restaurant on Caledonia Street!) and as a convention and special event producer with her husband’s company, Peter Arnott Productions.

We are honored and delighted that Ann is receiving this much-deserved recognition at the Spirit of Marin luncheon on Friday, September 25th, 11:30 AM, at the St. Vincent School for Boys in San Rafael.

Congratulations Ann, and a thousand thank yous for all you do for our Sausalito community; you truly are one of our leading ladies.
