| Rosemary Tapia has been painting in
oil and watercolor for more than thirty years. It was always her
hobby, drawing and painting but when she moved to California from
New York City in 1968 she was inspired, not only by the beautiful
“California light” but also the abundant color, more
vivid and rich than those of the cement city.
After living for several years in Southern California, Rosemary
met Bob Tapia who was an established oil painter. Together they
moved to Sausalito. In 1974 opened the Tapia Art Gallery at 52 Princess
Street in Sausalito, to show their original works and to be directly
involved in presenting it to the public. They have an OPEN STUDIO
at this location.
Watercolors of local scenes and flowers are her major works but
oils are also part of her expression. Most all of her work is in
bright colors, saturated reds and blues against soft washes of light
pastels.
This year is the 30th anniversary of the Tapia Art Gallery which
is located at 52 Princess Street in Sausalito. The gallery is open
from 10 to 5 daily where you can find either Bob or Rosemary at
work.
Collectors come from worldwide to see and purchase their works.
